Stars vs Rangers Picks, Predictions & Odds Tonight - NHL
The New York Rangers put a seven-Game win streak on the line tonight against the Dallas Stars, who are 12-3-3 since Jan. 8 and won this season's previous meeting, 6-3, on Nov. 20.
The Rangers are decent-sized home favorites in the NHL odds this evening, with a lofty total of 6.5 on the board.
Can the Blueshirts even the season series with the Stars and extend their winning streak? Find out in my Stars vs. Rangers NHL picks and predictions for Tuesday, February 20.

Stars vs Rangers predictions
Adam Fox has been driving the New York Rangers offense of late, and I expect him to be at his playmaking best vs. the Dallas Stars tonight.
Fox has eight assists over his last four games, highlighted by a four-assist performance vs. the Montreal Canadiens last Thursday and two assists in a win over the New York Islanders in Sunday afternoon's memorable Stadium Series clash. Three of those helpers came on the power play, where the Rangers have cashed in on four of their last nine chances after riding a 0-for-17 skid over their previous seven contests.
The Stars' penalty kill has been a sore spot for them even during their 12-3-3 run as they're at 75% in that sample (25th in the NHL). It's often said that the goaltender is a team's best penalty killer, but No. 1 netminder Jake Oettinger just played vs. the Boston Bruins yesterday, meaning backup Scott Wedgewood will likely be tasked with stopping a Blueshirts offense that's fifth in the league in goals per game since the All-Star break (4.00).
The Rangers have not announced a goaltender yet, but backup Jonathan Quick is very much eligible to play after Igor Shesterkin looked less than stellar giving up five goals on Sunday. With defenseman Ryan Lindgren's status up in the air after suffering an injury late in Sunday's proceedings, I doubt Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette will deploy a "safety first" gameplan tonight.
The Stars have scored just as frequently as the Rangers have since the pause, so their potent offense — with or without Matt Duchene (lower body) — will not let Fox be idle on either end of the ice.
I like the Adam Fox odds for him to get an assist tonight, as he has at least one helper in 26 of 45 Games this year, including one in nine of his last 13 overall. He'll be making plays vs. a Dallas defense that could be down as many as three blueliners tonight, as top-flight D-man Miro Heiskanen missed Monday's Game due to paternity leave, and both Jani Hakanpaa (upper body) and Nils Lundkvist (concussion) have already been ruled out due to injury.
My best bet: Adam Fox Over 0.5 assists (-130 at BetMGM)
Stars vs Rangers same-game parlay
Adam Fox Over 0.5 assists
Chris Kreider Over 3.5 shots on goal
Over 6.5
As Fox has taken fewer shots while sticking to the passing Game (six total shots in his last six Games), Chris Kreider has upped the ante in terms of getting rubber on net.
Kreider fired a season-high eight shots on net in the Stadium Series showdown on Sunday, the fourth time in six games since the All-Star break he's recorded at least four shots on goal. The Stars are a modest 17th in shots allowed per game this year (30.2), so let's add these Chris Kreider odds to the SGP.
The Over is a logical side with two backup goalies potentially manning the creases here, especially if you can get plus money on it. Wedgewood's starts have been particularly high-scoring, with Over bettors cashing in 16 of his 22 starts this season.

Stars vs Rangers moneyline and Over/Under analysis
The Rangers are favorites of no better than -140 (bet365) and no worse than -150 (FanDuel) as of Tuesday morning. Initial action was all over the Rangers at -122, but they've yet to go past -150 before Stars buyback has pushed the line back down to the -140 range.
The Blueshirts are not a bad proposition at all considering they've won seven in a row. Even if Quick gets the nod over Shesterkin, moneyline bettors should know that New York is 13-6 behind Quick when the veteran starts this year, with four of those wins coming during this seven-game heater.

Dallas is in a tough spot with either Wedgewood or Oettinger on a back-to-back, while both Shesterkin and Quick have had their ups and downs this season. Both the Stars (36-20-0) and Rangers (29-24-2) have been kind to Over bettors this year.
